weekend round up

Ahhh the weekends. I asked for more weekends and like magic, one came. Friday started off just about as good as a weekend can get -- a trip to see Paula for a sassy new haircut and dinner at a great new restaurant. Our friend Jake is managing a new Italian place called Bella Vita Cucina and we haven't been able to get a table there for weeks. Marc surprised me earlier in the week with the news that he had managed to get us in and it was fantastic with not only a great menu, but the first place in town offering the bring your own wine option. Yay! So I stuffed myself on homemade pasta, prosciutto, dessert, coffee and all the fixings. Happy lady!

Saturday we had the lovely Liana and her husband Craig over for a fun night of wine and pizza making. Kudos to Liana for the pizza making call and introducing us to the wonderful world of pizza on naan bread. So delicious! Post-pizza, off to the Townehouse for Marc's debut as an official Saltcoat. Our friend Will Gillespie has a new band called The Saltcoats and Marc has recently taken up the banjo job with them and Saturday was his first gig. Considering they've only been together about a week, it was pretty great and everyone is pumped to see what the future holds. They're playing the Northern Lights Festival Boreal in July so keep your eyes peeled.

Sunday, out to breakfast, dog walk, groceries and a great Sunday dinner with my folks and Grandpa. Marc left this afternoon for a week-long training course in Toronto so I'm flying solo. Not only is he conferencing in Toronto but he's also going to see Eric's Trip while he's there. As. Freaking. If. This is something we best not spend too much time discussing lest my eyes explode from jealousy. They're only the best band in the history of music after all. I plan on eating for one, shopping, taking up the whole bed and peeing with the door open. All in an attempt to not get lonely and miss Marc. Sigh. A whole week of cooking for myself = whatever!

Note to Marc: come home soon.
