one gal's mid-century modern is another gal's everyday

Saw this in blogland today and it made me laugh right out loud. On Modish Vintage's shop update they're touting the "vintage Noritake Primastone stoneware oval serving platter with geometric design" as one of their latest mid-century modern finds up for grabs.

These are my use everyday dishes! I have an entire set of these complete with tea cups and a butter dish. The only thing I don't have strangely is this serving platter.

I inherited my dishes from my parents who bought them when they first got married in 1969!

Don't you find it strange when something you see and use everyday is viewed by another as a collector's item?
